Beware of self-proclaimed flood preachers in Greater Brisbane

There is a self-appointed flood expert in Brisbane - masquerading under a group name - who is still urging 2011 Brisbane River flood victims not to sign up for a class action.

This man has been witnessed haranguing flood victims at meetings organised around Brisbane by Maurice Blackburn Lawyers.

Many erudite people question this one-man band's grasp of fundamental legal issues especially his view that a successful class action against the Queensland Government would automatically open the floodgates for others to piggyback onto that claim AFTER the event.

If Premier Campbell Newman is forced to pay out on a successful class action, there is no way in the world he would keep the state's coffers open for everyone else to come forward to make further claims.

Anyone who thinks Campbell Newman is the epitome of public benevolence in Queensland is either a political troglodyte or a fool - or perhaps both!

Flood victims thinking about not signing up for the class action at this stage because of the views expressed by self-appointed flood experts / litigation advisers, should think twice because they might completely lose their opportunity to recover their losses from the state government.

Be alert and seriously alarmed if you hear the spruikings of ill-informed people who could wreak havoc with people's lives for a second time if they follow what many consider as totally inappropriate advice.

The Greater Goodna Flood Group has consistently recommended Brisbane, Ipswich and Greater Goodna flood victims sign up for the class action being considered by Maurice Blackburn / IMF (Australia).  This will give each and every claimant real peace of mind - rather than relying on the self-induced rantings of unqualified, self-appointed civil litigation advisers.
