2011 flood class action looms against operators of Wivenhoe Dam

Channel 10 News reports that the proposed class action over the 2011 Brisbane River flood is looking more likely.

Damian Scattini from Maurice Blackburn Lawyers announced: "It looks like there's a case to answer for the operators of the Wivenhoe Dam".

Ipswich Councillor Paul Tully said this was a very significant announcement for the 4000 flood victims who have already signed up for the class action.

"Justice may not be that far away for thousands of flood victims across Ipswich and Brisbane.

"The sooner the state government tries to resolve this matter in a fair and equitable manner the better," Cr Tully said.
