HABITAT for Humanity is on a tight schedule to finish two new homes in Ipswich for flood-affected families.

An urgent plea has gone out for volunteers who already have a white construction card which enables them to immediately work on the sites at Boundary St, Moores Pocket.

Habitat Ipswich chairman Trevor Foote said one of the recipients lost a home at Riverview through the 2011 flood, and the second, Debbie Anderson, had her home severely damaged.

"We have a deadline set for the last week in September for the two families to be able to move in," he said.

The two Moores Pocket homes and another that's already built at Bundamba were donated to accommodate flood-affected families by Gold Coast construction company Pearls MiiHome.

Mr Foote said the opening and dedication of all three homes was set for October 13.

"It's all very urgent. We're happy to take as many volunteers as we can," he said.

"The volunteers could be tradesmen, builders or carpenters who just want to give a day or two - even apprentices."

Volunteers can register with Mr Foote on 0409 889 386.
